Antichrist Calls For New Iraqi Government
Iraq’s top Shia cleric Muqtada Al-Sadr yesterday called on his followers to rise up against the slow pace of reforms by the Iraqi government.
“The current situation in Iraq does not bode well. I’m waiting for a major peaceful revolution against Daesh patrons of terrorism and corruption in the current government,” Sadr said in a statement.
“Hope remains with the people and the people must rise up one day,” he added.
A member of the pro-Sadr Al-Ahrar bloc in the Iraqi parliament, Ghalib Al-Zamili, said Sadr is concerned about the reluctance to conduct reform.
“Linking the ongoing military operations in the city of Fallujah with the reforms is an attempt to delay reforms,” he said.
“Sadr wants protests…to continue and wants to see a change on the ground with a view to serving the people,” he added.
Thousands of Sadr followers have twice stormed Baghdad’s Green Zone to protest against failures to form a government of technocrats.
