Fears for world peace as officials confirm North Korea madman Kim now has nuclear missiles
NORTH Korean madman Kim Jong Un has got his hands on nuclear missiles which he could use to start World War Three, defence officials warned tonight.
North Korea has nuclear capabilities, it has been claimed
Senior
sources within the South Korean government confirmed the world’s worst
fears by stating their belief that Pyongyang had developed a nuclear
warhead that could hit target more than 1,000 miles away.Unhinged
North Korean leader Kim, who has repeatedly threatened to strike out
against the West, said last month that his country had miniaturised
nuclear warheads to mount on ballistic missiles. It was his first direct
statement of a claim often made in state media, though never
independently verified.
Kim Jong Un could well have his finger on the button
The
new miniaturised nuclear bombs would fit onto the Pyongyang developed
Rodong missile, which can fire a 1 tonne warhead a distance of up to
2,000 km (1,250 miles). That would put all of South Korea, most of Japan
and parts of Russia and China in range of the insane despot’s trigger
finger.A South Korean defence source warned: ”We believe they have
the ability to mount a nuclear warhead on a Rodong. Whether they will
fire it like that is a political decision.” There was no direct evidence that the North has successfully mounted a
warhead on such a missile, the South Korean official said, declining to
discuss the basis for the change in assessment.
A North Korean missile
The United States, South Korea’s
staunch ally, agreed with the claims.Pentagon spokesman Captain Jeff
Davis said: ”We know that they’ve said they have that capability, and we
have to take them at their word.”But we have not seen them demonstrate
it, so we don’t share that assessment necessarily but we do accept what
they say as a threat we need to take as real.” For decades, North Korea and South Korea have faced off against each other.
