Former CIA covert officer Valerie Plame Wilson will speak during an event hosted by the Alabama World Affairs Council on Tuesday in Montgomery. 

 

Wilson was instrumental in ensuring that Iran did not acquire nuclear weapons and played a leading role in uncovering the black-market nuclear weapons network set up by Pakistan’s nuclear scientist AQ Khan.

  Her memoir, “Fair Game,” was the basis of a movie starring Sean Penn and Naomi Watts. It told the story of her outing as a U.S. spy, an effort orchestrated by the office of Vice President Dick Cheney.
