“Pakistan will not compromise on its nuclear program.” CJCSC Gen. Raza
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – General Nadeem Raza, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), has stressed that people should avoid making baseless and unnecessary comments about Pakistan’s nuclear program.
“Pakistan is a responsible and confident nuclear country,” said the deputy chairman of the National Command Authority at a seminar at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in Islamabad on Monday.
According to the top military official, Pakistan’s policy is full-spectrum deterrence within the scope of reliable nuclear balance. The country’s safety mechanism is in line with national and international standards.
The CJCSC asked people not to comment on Pakistan’s nuclear program, saying, “In nuclear countries, only the National Command Authority has the right to comment on strategic programs.”
Pakistan’s nuclear capability ensures the country’s defense and its integrity; it also has the full support of political parties and the people, he said.
General Raza described civil and military leadership as “an iron wall” with the country’s strategic program, adding, “National security is indivisible.”
“Pakistan will not compromise on its nuclear program.”
