Iran Ready To Become A Nuclear State

As events heat up in Jerusalem with the recent upsurge in terrorist attacks, as well as the ongoing political missiles being aimed at Prime Minister Netanyahu by the Obama administration, there is another, more ominous threat simmering below the surface that could potentially set the Middle East on fire. As we approach the November 24th deadline for a deal that is intended to halt or slow down Iran’s nuclear race, the recurring question is back in the news – Will the United States and the other nations participating in the negotiations with Iran, sign an agreement that will allow the Islamic regime to go forward in developing nuclear weapons capability?

Despite Israel’s persistent warnings to the negotiating nations that a bad deal is far worse than no deal, the Iranian regime seems more confident than ever that it will be able to get a deal that will enable it to move forward with its goal of becoming a nuclear power.

In a very revealing interview with Iran’s Fars News Agency, as reported by MEMRI (the Middle East Media Research Institute),  Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s adviser, Ali Younesi, declared that “the Obama administration desperately needs a substantial achievement to show for its term in office, and therefore this is the time to pressure it… I am not so optimistic about the nuclear negotiations, but both sides do want it to yield results. The Americans want this more than other countries.”

This American eagerness for a deal has been evident all along, as all requests from Israel to strengthen sanctions and to leave a realistic military option on the table have been rejected by the Obama administration.

Finally, in Younesi’s most revealing statement, which exposes Iran’s strategy for all to see, he declares, “Obama is the weakest president the US has ever had, because he has suffered humiliating defeat in this region, and his term in office saw the coming of the Islamic awakening that dealt the Americans the greatest defeat. It is during Obama’s term in office that terrorism spread to the greatest extent. During these eight years, America suffered immense defeat, and that is why he wants to reach an agreement.”

Furthermore, Iran’s parliament speaker, Ali Larijani, said on Sunday that Iran would not accept any limits on its nuclear program except those “within the logical framework of transparency [measures] in the nuclear technology,” Iran’s Tasnim News Agency reported.

Can it be any clearer? Iran is going full speed ahead for the nuclear bomb and believes that Obama’s weakness will enable it to achieve its goals through these negotiations. Barring a preemptive surprise attack, expect an agreement to be reached that will place some limitations on Iran’s nuclear program, but that will allow it to move forward towards nuclear weapons capability.

Needless to say, such a deal will greatly heighten the chances of a major military confrontation between Israel and Iran. Given Obama’s proven hostility towards Israel, such a scenario doesn’t seem to concern him too much.
